Artistic Director
Solo trumpeter of the OSG
On September 28, audiences will get to revel in classical music in all its splendour during a concert spotlighting the trumpet. Our solo trumpeter, Francis Pigeon, will shine the spotlight on, among others, Haydn’s magnificent Concerto in E-flat.
At the time when Brahms composed his Symphony No. 4, which the OSG has set aside as the main course in the second part of the concert, the keyed trumpet was just making its appearance in orchestras, providing the opportunity for that instrument to assume its rightful place like never before. Many regard it as his greatest masterpiece.
